So my normal supplier of pool shock switched brands and instead of 10% sodium hypochlorite on the old brand, the new brand says 15% available chlorine and 12.5% sodium hypochlorite. My guess is I need to calculate using sodium hypochlorite, but I wanted to ask to be double sure.

On the bright side, the price I still the same, 4 gallons for $9.99!

Thanks as always for your help!

As Richard says, put in 12.5% into The Pool Calculator, but their 15% Available Chlorine can't be right. The following relationship is usually true:

% Available Chlorine (weight % of chlorine) < weight % of sodium hypochlorite < Trade % of chlorine (volume % of chlorine)
