During the TA test, the TF-100 instructions say to "Wipe the tip of the bottle after every drop with a damp cloth". Why?

When the R-0009 used in the TA test is very fresh, static electricity develops between the reagent and the bottle causing the drops to "jump" off the tip before they are fully formed....resulting in a higher than normal reading.
Eliminating the static by wiping the tip every few drops and your test will be more accurate. This condition disappears after just a few weeks or so.

Every time my kids ask me something I don't know (which is frequent) I send them straight to their rooms without any supper.
