Water is awesome, doesn't burn the eyes, pool looks fantastic! if you are reading this and you pool looks like a swamp, it can be fixed. it took 6 weeks for my swamp to be an oasis. I'm sorry i didn't take a picture of Day 0, the first pic starts at Day 2 I believe after adding bleach. What follows below is my 30 picture recap of the pool. there is a gap in the pictures as I was away for 2 weeks in June and the wife added bleach while I was away. If your pool looks like mine, don't give up, it can take a while!

That's awesome--I love seeing progression pictures like this! Congrats!

Just think how much money you saved by doing it without the pool store's "advice". I like the bleach bottle pic--how much did you end up using?

I just looked at your pile of bleach bottles and thought...hum... I wonder how that compares to a PS.

I went to chain store we all know of and they have this kit for sale:

If you went into the store, this might be something you get based on their recommendations
The kit is $169.00 but you might "need" an algaecide for $30.00 and a phosphate remover for another $30.

You pile looks to have about 40 bottle at $2.98 each from WM for the 182 OZ bottles. You would have spent about $120.00 plus $4 for borax and your TF100 kit. You still have enough left over in your pool fund for cold beverages.

unfortunately I spent more than $120 in bleach, and my K-2006 kit was about $130 plus tax in Canada, and I had to buy more reagent already which came to about $50 with shipping. however, I now trust the water in my pool, have an excellent grasp on it's chemistry, and I believe I have spend less and will spend less through the year than I would have at a pool store.

I Just got out of the pool with my wife kids and my parents. I'm now the hero of the family!

Super Dad to the rescue! :super:

It may have cost you more today but in the long-term, you will save.

I just wish there were a way to get test kits to the folks in the great white north without costing and arm and leg.
