Pool leak/ high sewer bill

I have a leak in my pool some where and have a very high sewer bill and I am a first time pool owner please advise thank you

i would find and fix the leak. is it an above ground? or is it an inground pool? how much water are you losing? It is really hot out you can lose a good inch in this heat a day. or at least I am anyways

Some towns assume that the water you consume goes back to the sewer which in your case, and most of ours, just isn't true while our pool is open (as we lose to evaporation). You might want to give them a call and explain your situation and see if they will help you out.

They do no measure sewer flow. So your sewer bill is based on your water consumption. Some areas are nice and leave your summer sewer bill the same as in the winter ... that way you are not paying sewer for water used on plants and pool. Best bet is to call them and ask them to review your historical usage and maybe reduce the sewer bill due to the pool fill.
