Get filter basket out of jacuzzi magnum force

Hi everyone.

I am wondering if anyone has a jacuzzi magnum force pump and if so how do you get the Dang filter basket out to clean it?

I had a Jacuzzi Magnum pump for 16 seasons before this year.

Not sure I really understand your question since removing the filter basket is rather straight forward -- turn off the pump,un-screw the cover for the filter basket, then pick-up the filter basket. Are you not able to un-screw the filter basket cover? Not able to pull the filter basket out of the pump?

The plastic cover comes off fine, but the basket doesn't come out. It has a flapper on it that looks like its attached to the basket itself, but I try and pull it out, it doesn't come. I try to pry around the edges, doesn't help. I tried turning it (as if it would unscrew) but doesn't move.

Don't be afraid to give the plastic basket a good tug. If its caked with pool Crud, it might take a little extra pull. Sometimes I'd feel resistance (almost like suction holding it in place).
Don't pull by the flapper or it will tear off from its attached 'ears'.
