Great site, I have learned a lot!
We had a 30' x 52" round installed with a deeper center 5' 5". It was installed two weeks ago and so far the water has been beautiful and has warmed to 80F. I initially visited my pool installer's store to thank them for a great install and buy some liquid chlorine. I discovered they did not carry liquid forms due to "safety issues" (small store with offices, heavy equipment). Since I did need some chemicals, I decided to buy 3" trichlor tablets (I did need CYA too). Since reading this site I also have purchased the TF-100 test kit and have tested very frequently. I have not counted the tablets but I suspect the pool has consumed 7-10.

My question does CYA take time to show up when using Trichlor?
