Help with converting to a sand filter

Hi,
I just recently purchased a sand filter for our 15' x42" metal frame pool with wall skimmer. I am having trouble attaching my hoses to the sand filter. I purchased the hoses with the threads on either end, but they are slightly too big to attach to my wall skimmer and the return to my pool. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What brand sand filter? Can you post pictures of the hoses and the connections for the skimmer and new filter?

The picture is of a through the wall skimmer..is this what you have?

I don't know if you have the same set-up but worth taking a look if you don't want to use PVC
