If it the cleaner uses 1 1/4 flex tube, I have had okay results using a plastic hose barb fitting that I got at home depot. (Gray plastic 1 1/4 x 1 /14, barb x barb. Got it in the area where they sell the PVC pipe fittings. It doesn't slip as far into the blue skimmer port as I would like, and it's a pain pushing the flex tube onto the other end of the barb, but it works ok for my pole vac. I think the concern would be that the automatic cleaner could potentially pull the hose off the barb or pull the barb out of the blue port if the hose were stretched taut for some reason (like not having enough slack hose, or if the cleaner wrapped itself around a ladder or something.)
