Need quick help!! Difference between ec65 and ec50 filter

I found a de filter at a yard sale, hayward de ec65 and I have a ec50 with a crack in the bottom.

Anyone know if the body is the same? Or can I use the whole filter? What's the difference between them?

Asking 50. They took down the pool when they bought the house

No they are not the same, the EC65 and EC75 are on the same size canister, the EC50 (and maybe EC40) are on a smaller size. Assuming the fingers are still good (may need to soak in TSP/water solution then be acid washed) you should be able to use the EC65 instead of your EC50, it is just one size larger, and when it comes to filters, larger is almost always better.

Thinking about it you might be able to swap out the bodies, the EC 65/EC75 is taller, but I am not sure, they may be the same diameter, may be worth looking at.
