I bought a house a couple months ago with a nice 25 year old 13,000 Gal, semi-rectangular, plaster finished gunite pool + spa. It looks like it's been re-coated in the last ten years. The pumps seem to be in decent shape, but the heater long ago rusted out.
I actually lived in a house with a nice in-ground tile/cement pool in Libya for a couple years, but just threw in the pucks a couple times a week since I rarely used it (when I was there I was working hard, when I wasn't working I wasn't at my house). I already ordered up a TF-100 kit a month ago - sort of reminiscent of titration labs in Chem 101. It's nice to have all sorts of resources here to learn about things like CYA buildup, etc.
