How long to wait before shocking after adjusting pH?

What happened to your pH? 
In two previous posts it was 7.5 and 7.8. You don't need borax for that.
If you're trying for 7.2 or so, you need muriatic acid. If you add that in front of a return while it's running, then brush a little bit, 30 minutes should be plenty of time before you start the shock process.

I have no idea what happened!! When I checked this evening, my pH was 7.2 and I had 2ppm FC and 1.5 CC. I was going to add borax and then shock.
