Filling new liner & adding salt gen – procedure to follow ?

Hello -

We had to put a new liner in our pool so we we decided to add salt generator at the same time (AquaRite 40K). We have never drained our pool before and don't understand what we do once we fill the pool, especially since we are converting to a salt system. Do we need to balance the pool the old way and then do a conversion to the salt system ? Can anyone please advise on the steps we need to follow ? Thanks for your help.

Yep, balance your pool, add salt, let it sit for a day with the pump running, then fire up your SWG.

1. Test and adjust pH.
2. Add 3 ppm of FC the first evening.
3. Test and adjust TA.
4. Add salt.
5. Add enough CYA to get to 70 ppm.
6. Test CH.
7. Add 4 ppm FC the second evening.
8. Turn the swcg on.
9. Test and adjust according to your normal schedule.
