I have a 25,000 gl. pool. The 1 HP Hayward Superpump just burnt and I replaced it with a brand new Hayward 1 HP pump. The old pump psi was 30-40 and the new pump psi is less than 10. I can't figure out what could be the problem. There are a couple of leaks that need to be fixed but they were there with the old pump, as well.

What is the model of you new pump? What kind of filter are you using?
30 psi is really high filter pressure, 10 is in a much better range. Are you sure that you gauge is working? Does the gauge go to 0 when you turn off the pump.
What kind of flow are you getting at the pool return?

That is a psi gauge issue. You either replaced a broken gauge or dislodged something in the old gauge.
