Dry acid and SWG???

Noticed a little cloudness in the water and did my own test and also went to the pool store
PH - 8.1
FC - 2.89
TC - 2.95
CH - 145
TA - 135
CYA - 45

Pool guys suggested to drop 2.5lb to lower ph/ta. I did.
Now I am reading that dry acid should NOT be used with SWG. Can somebody confirm .

Using a little dry acid here and there is fine. Using dry acid every time you want to lower the PH for years can cause damage to the SWG eventually.

By the by, the recommended CYA level for a SWG is from 70 to 80.
