Which do I believe for TA

I had been testing with a test kit and was around 80. In the past couple of days it dropped to 70 so I was planning on adding some baking soda. Happened to test with some test strips that I have and according to that it looks like it is 100-120.

The test kit is a basic one that I got with a startup kit that I got from the builder that included a net and thermometer, etc.

Unless that's a good drop based kit I wouldn't trust either. But if I had to pick one it wouldn't be the strips!

It is drop based. I remembered I had another test kit that was ~1 year old and that also measured 70, so I'm going with that.

ONe more thing. How stable is your pH? If it's stable I wouldn't worry about the TA. I'd leave it alone unless it got really low.

My pool is new (filled up ~6 weeks ago) and I still see PH drift high fairly quickly. I add a little acid 2-3x per week.

I guess I'm not experienced enough to know if this is stable or not.

Do you have a SWCG?

I'd let the TA come down a little further and see if the pH stabilized.

No SWCG yet. I added salt this weekend and will be hooking up the SWCG soon (right now there is just a spacer cell).
