Intex SF15110 with SWCG with no to very little suction

Hi there,

We are starting up our pool and attaching the SWCG for the first time. Even without the SWCG, we can't get the pressure up. It lasts for maybe 2 minutes, usually less than a minute and than drops. We have checked for air in the hose and debris in the filter and skimmer.

We had a similar situation at first last year, but after a few days of trying and re-backwashing/rinsing, it finally worked. Not so lucky this year.

Do we need to unscrew all of the screws to the impelller housing or are we supposed to leave that alone?

Any other suggestions?

By the way--using this with a Intex 18' X 48" round metal pool.

Welcome to TFP!

Make sure the water level in the skimmer is deep enough that no vortex forms. A vortex can draw in air that will cause the symptoms you describe. The same thing can happen with a lose connection on either end of the hose between the skimmer and the pump.
