17,000 gal vinyl IG pool.

losing about 1/2" + - per 24 hr period

keep it covered practically all summer

no visable leaks on equipment pad
plugged suction side one night and return side another and still have leak.
went around to every flange with red dye, no signs of leak
did the bucket test overnight no real evaporation

pool held a basic water level all winter ( i say "basic" because we did have rain etc)

so my next step is to let it go till it stops and check the liner at that level? anything else?

½" in 24 hours isn't a real big leak but it's enough that you should be able to find it.

Do you have a main drain? If so seal it off and see if it continues to leak.

Letting the level go down is alright as long as it doesn't get too low.

your right its not huge, been living with it.

to seal main drain? take cover off and plug? ( dont remember what it looks like inside lol)

thanks

I'd take a solid rubber, foam or plastic sheet or mat of some kind and weigh it down around the drain. If you can get a pretty god seal you should be able to rule out it as a possible suspect. Sand in some zip-lock bags make good formable weights.
