I gotta be honest i cant see any scenario where i would feel comfortable putting soap in my pool........just saying

As much as I hate those bugs I would have to agree with you family guy. In fact Im pretty sure I read somewhere not to do it.

I am about 50 miles north of you on Highway 80 and I have the bugs you speak. Once I get the pool balanced using the BBB methods (almost exclusively bleach in my pool) and the boatmen bugs are gone. I do get bees and wasps but I think they are looking for water more than anything else. Be careful with the bees, they sting you when you try to scoop them out.
