Help 2nd year pebbletech with copper stain

I just opend my pool, and notice a copper stain on the steps. How do I take care of this?

Do you know the source of the copper in the water, and have you verified it is copper by checking it with a vitamin C tablet and water testing?

I do not know the source, however what are the usual suspects? I have pvc pipes, sand fileter, and 5 yr old hayward pump. I use clorine tablets and clorine shock. to balance the waeter I use tf-100 test kit. Where can I test my house water for copper? How do I use the Vit. C?
