Pool bottom

I have done some research and I was going to go with a 2in styrofoam bottom. I just had my installer tell me that that would make it so the liner would not fit properly. He said the extra 2inches would eat up space normally accounted for by they liner therefore making the liner have excess i.e. not fit properly. Please share your thoughts.

Assuming this a "permanent" agp, then the foam would take up the space the sand would normally take. 2-3 inches is common thickness of sand under the pool. You will still need a cove for the corners, and with the foam bottom, foam cove works best. With that said, since you are hiring an installer, make sure in the end he/she and you are comfortable with the thickness taken up by foam or sand.
