new pool decisions..comparison

Hello all- We are trying to figure this pool thing out and were hoping for some thoughts on our choices. Here are is the equiptment in our two bids:

choice #1:

Pump: Zodiac Flo Pro Variable Speed 2H
Filter: Zodiac 460 Sq Ft Cartridge Versa
Control: iAqualink PS8
sanitizer: nature 2 plus fusion
Ret Cleaner: Polaris 280

choice #2: (all pentair- this bid has less detail re equiptment)

Pump: 2 HP with GFCI
control: easytouch wireless
legend cleaner

Pool is free form, about 35x19, about 95 linear feet (bids are a bit different in size)

Those are hardly comparable as there is no information in Choice #2 (what filter, which pump, any sanitizer).

I will say this. Do no waste your money on the Nature 2 plus fusion. First that type of chlorine (pucks/sticks/etc will add stabilizer (CYA) which can be bad if levels get too high) and second the "minerals" are just copper and silver which are not needed in a pool and can lead to staining and green hair if not controlled.

If you are going to have the iAqualink, why not get a SWG?

Also 2HP seems pretty big if you do not have a spa or water features.

If you are interested in learning before you get your pool, Read through Pool School (button at upper right) a few times. There are articles in there that explain the chemistry in your pool and what is recommended to use to chlorinate your pool.
