Hi all,
I've had the pool for a few years now and the filter is roughly from the 13th century as far as I can guess. I have it shut down for me (getting professionals involved at least once a season is probably better given my level). Opening it up this year I notice that 1) the DE pumps right back into the pool and 2) there are a lot of tiny aqua colored fibers in the baskets. Would my guess that my filter (or part thereof) has essentially disintigrated be a good one?
I also got in my head that it can be fairly dangerous to open up the filter. Did I get bad advice or are there any special precautions I should take?
Thanks and happy swimming!
John
