I love this site. We just got our Aqua Trol . I added the salt wednesday evening.

salt is 3180, i am adding another 1 1/2 bags this afternoon.

We have a 20' sand filter not sure what size the pump is. I know I need to raise my FC. I am concerned with the calcium.
We are ready to put in the SWG as soon as I get my numbers correct.

Is your pool vinyl or gunite/plaster? If it is vinyl, you are good to go. If it's plaster, you need to raise the CH. 250 minimum.

I'm a little concerned about the test reading showing a CC of .6, but I don't typically trust pool store tests.

Don't forget to get your CYA up to at least 70.

Lower your pH with some muriatic acid. It's going to creep up on you with the SWG, so you will most likely have to keep MA on hand. I'm about to go get some myself.

It is a vinyl liner. How do you get the cc reading? I have also noticed our return jet is turned where it is blowing water up. I will have my husband turn it when he gets home.

Welcome to TFP.

FC + CC = TC so TC - FC = CC. 2.0 - 1.37 = .63 CC.
We suggest shocking at CC above 0.5 CC.
You need a good test kit. It's worth the money it costs. It'll save you many times the cost in your pool care expense.

You don't need to worry about the CH in a vinyl pool. Mine is almost zero.
