Hayward Tristar pump question

I'm new to the posting. I just bought a Hayward Tristar sp32152ee pump to replace a Hayward 1.5HP 2 speed super pump that went bad. I have 1.5 in pipes. The manual states that I should have 2 in pipe, will I be able to use this pump.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can use that pump. You need to run at least several inches of 2" pipe on either side of the pump, preferably more like 18" to 3'. After that you can reduce down to 1.5" pipe and it will be fine.

I do have plenty of room to run up to 3ft of 2in pipe on both in and out.
I was hoping I wouldn't have to return the pump.
