DE filter backwash every 30 min

Well after many equipment problems I am running finally. The pool was bad. Frogs had put out welcome signs.. Had babies... Built elementary schools . So im finaly filtering. Question is the filter pressure is rising every 20-30 min. De filter. I mnow its doing its job but I cant stay all day. Any other suggestions?

Shut it off or bypass it when you can't be there. If DE has a disadvantage, it is because it is a PITA when clearing a really murky pool.

I do have multi port so I can run on recirculate when not home but that is more often than when im home during the week! Will I still be killing the algae or will this become a never ending battle. Love this filter when my pool is crystal clear but this is silly . The first few backwashes were after 10 minutes!

Yep, that's a very dirty pool and a DE filter.

Keep chlorine in your pool and it will keep killing algae so "recirculate" is better than shutting it off.
