Bonus tip from a licensed Journeyman plumber

For those of you interested in doing the 3/8 upgrade..... The 1/4 NPT tap for cutting threads into a 7/16 hole drilled into Schedule 40 PVC pipe can be difficult to find. This is to let you know that that same 7/16 hole can be tapped with a standard 1/2 - 20 tap. This has been done in the plumbing world for years, and it relies on the fact that the standard tap is straight, whereas the NPT fittings is tapered. Don't over tighten, as your threads are only made of plastic.
