Two Questions-Sorry If Asked Before-Conflicting Answers

#1............. Better to run my SWG during sunshine or dark. (Pool School says run during day many posts say run pump at night-must run pump to run SWG??)


#2............Free Chlorine Level many say to run about 3-5ppm for my type of pool and SWG-Pool calculator says 4-11.

Clarification and help would be most appreciated.

#1 doesn't really matter. Run it whenever it's best for you. I run my pump in 3 sessions some during the day and some at night. What matters is running it long enough to get the required FC in the water and about 1 turnover of the pool water.

#2 Believe whatever the Pool Calc says. Once you put your numbers in and set it as an swcg pool using Troublefreepool levels, it'll give you the recommended ranges. Go by those. Don't confuse yourself by listening to anything else.
