Sta-Rite Max-E-Flow issues

New to the board... thanks for any advice in advance!

Didn't come back to life easily this year (5 year old pool and pump). Just hummed, threw the breaker on and off a few times, then it started up but it's a bit noisy this year (a little whine).

Doesn't seem to be pushing as much water either... lastly, noticed last year when I'd open/clean the integrated basket that water would flow backwards from the pump and out the top. Definitely didn't do that when it was newer.

Any advice, suggestions?

Give us more info about your equipment.

if you're talking about the pump probably a bearing going out.

You may have a check valve stuck open or leaking by a bit causing the water to back flow.

more info will help us diagnose things.

It is the pump... sorry, had the name wrong.
