I still have the original pump/filter that came with the pool. It is an Intex krystal clear 635t 1500gph(gallons per hour, i assume). Thats all the info I have about it. There was no hp listed. I would like to upgrade as I dont think this pump/filter as I dont feel like it is quite big enough. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

The larger Intex sand filter is a reasonable and inexpensive choice. Or you could go with something fancier, but that would be significantly more money.
You might check craigslist in your area for a good used pump and filter. www.searchtempest.com will allow you to search in a wider area.
