CYA=0 (I think it may really be 0 because the liner leaks and I've had to fill several times over the off season)
This is my first opening after converting from Baquacil to BBB last season. The cover kept most of the junk out but it's pretty dirty on the bottom. Water is clear but has a very slight green tinge. I read that I should bring FC to shock levels but also read that if CYA is truly at 0 that FC shouldn't be brought above 5. Hung a sock with 4lbs CYA stabilizer at the return and put in 1 182oz jug of 6% bleach so that I'd have at least some FC. The 4lbs of stabilizer should get CYA to 36. I'm going to get some more and aim for 50, which is where I kept it last season. Once I have some CYA in the pool, I plan to shock up to 15.
Am I doing this right? Any suggestions. Thx much!

Once the CYA is dissolved go ahead and consider it in the water and start shocking.
