It does not test for salt.
Also, don't rule out the TF-100 just yet. The TF kit has different quantities of reagents, focusing specifically on having more of what you need as a BBB'er, so you may find it to be a better value.
 
I can't actually make that decision for you, but the TF-100 was put together from Taylor tests specifically to address the needs of the TFP forum members. I'd venture to say that most of us have one. I certainly bought one, and have never looked back.

Borates are something a few people add to the water supposedly to make it feel better. If you didn't purposefully add them and are not planning on adding them, you don't need to test for them.
