Once pool is balanced after opening, what are peoples opinion on pump run time. Should I run it 24-7 or only at night, only during day?? I've normally run it 24/7, but if I don't have too, I may get a timer for start and stop times.

You can almost certainly run your pump for a much shorter time each day. The ideal run time is different for every pool. The only way to determine it is to try out different run times until you find the shortest run time that still leaves the water sparkling.
