Armadillo in pool

Last night we came home to an armadillo swimming in our pool. He was just swimming around, and he climbed out from the steps and stood on the side of the pool and drank from it. Then he climbed back in the pool and went for another short swim before he got out and walked away. I know that armadillos are carriers of leprocy. Do I need to shock my pool?

Even tho I run good FC/CYA levels, the bottom line for me is if I am not perfectly satisfied I will shock my pool, whether it needs it or not.

Dead bird, dead mole/squirrel etc., I will raise to shock level.

As MITS said, probably not necessary, but I feel better. :)

Also, I have a compromised immune system and don't like to take any chances.

I spoke too soon. My dogs started barking hysterically in the backyard and it appears we had some visitors.
