Aquatrol not producing chlorine...

My Hayward Aquatrol is not producing chlorine, its only 2 years old, there are no red lights flashing or on at all. It says that it is generating, when I press the diag button I see that its getting juice. I don't remember the numbers off hand but its something like 3.23.

The pool is at 71ish degrees.

The only thing that is different from last season is I installed a light in the return and because of this the tube is not a full 90 degrees. Its at a slight angle. I have cranked the dial to 80 and its still showing less than 1 when I test for chlorine.

Any ideas?

Have you inspected or cleaned the cell recently? That is where I would start...

Before installing I inspected the cell and didn't see any build up.

capture some water directly from the return and test it. If it shows FC, run an overnight FC loss test.

I am not very good at determing the color but it looks like water from the return is much more yellow, between 1 and 2 which is still low.

By those numbers it is generating.. What are your latest test results for the water ?? The CYA is very important for these units. Also what kind of run time do you have on the pump ??
