Today I finished the setup of my equipment deck, sand filter and pump, solar bypass manifold, and swg. Im sure this has been discussed before but what is the differance between pool salt and solar salt and which is preferred. Also ive read that the copper ion should be unplugged for reasons but has anyone had any adverse affects who chose to leave it connected. Any help is appreciated.

Pool salt is ground more finely than solar salt, otherwise they are identical. Both are totally fine to use, as the salt dissolves very quickly either way. Solar salt tends to be less expensive. You want 99.6+% pure salt, without any additives (avoid rust fighter for example).
