Question abount adding Cyanuric Acid

Is there any tricks to adding Cyanuric Acid without pouring it into the skimmer? I don't want to lose it while backwashing.

If you are likely to need to backwash in the next week, put the CYA in a sock, and hang the sock in front of a return jet, so it gets caught up in the jet when the pump is running. Then you don't need to worry about backwashing.
