How do we clean our super green dirty saltwater pool?

Clear enough? lol

We didn't cover our intex saltwater pool during the fall/winter and it got lots of leaves in it and is really green and nasty. Where do we start to clean it? I know we need to get in and scrub down the sides and bottom, but then what? Can we use chlorine to shock the water? If so, how much and do we run it thru the salt water pump? Do we add salt after it is clear? Help!?!?

We basically need step by step instructions on how to do this. Thanks.

I would start by reading a Pool School article called The ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry. Then I would go to this post turning-your-green-swamp-back-into-a-sparkling-oasis-t4147.html and follow those directions verbatim...asking lots of questions along the way.

Go to store and get chlorine lots of it!
