Can I raise TA while shocking?

Any issues with raising TA before I am done shocking? I should pass the overnight test either tonight or tomorrow. Water is crystal clear.

Current numbers:
FC 20
CC .5
TC 20.5
PH 7.2
TA 50
CYA 50
Temp 50

I plan on adding borates this year when I am done shocking. Pool was opened a week ago.

I think it's fine to do (I'm not sure anyone has ever asked that question) but I believe I wouldn't raise it much (perhaps not more than 80)

The only issue is that the PH test is not usable when the FC level is that high, and raising TA can also raise PH a little. If your starting PH is 7.2, that isn't really going to be an issue as the PH won't go up enough to be an issue.
