Intex 17' x 48" circle - SWG - sand pump - new install

 We decided to install a Intex pool this year.
We went to Walmart after doing all of the research on the Above ground pools.
Walmart had the better deal for the 16' x 48" for $399.
well, http://www.walmart.com said the 16' x 48" was in stock
at both stores near me. So I headed to town to purchase the pool.
 get this. They didn't have the pool - not even, the other store either.
The website was way off on the stock. So after three discussions with
the manager about how incompetent  that they were. He agreed
and took my number to see if he could locate one for me.
3 hrs later, I was home. I received a call from him saying that he had located
a pool for me at the local Sam's Club.
But get this, they didn't have the 16' x 48" Intex pool Ultra Frame

They had a 17' x 48" Metal frame Intex pool. for the price of $399
So after seeing so many signs posted on the boxes (HOLD/Sold)
I grabbed one of these and the employee stated that there was only 4 left in the
store. Cause they were going fast. {Kmart had the same pool but they wanted $499 for the same exact pool).
I got it home and covered the box with a tarp.Until
we can get the ground ready.

Our plan is to get the ground prepped.
Yet, the idea is to get the ground marked off - (did that today)
Because it rained yesterday like crazy.
Tomorrow, we are going to borrow the neighbor's backho to dig the
ground out level so the pool is level with our deck. Had to move the
back steps yesterday between rain showers.
And we got the boards to add to our deck so we can eventually add the deck around the pool.
Will keep you all posted on this installation as I can

Walmarts 399.00 is a Summer Escape, not an Intex 16'X48" big difference in quality as far as I am concerned. My Summer Escape 18' blow up ring was 1/2 the quality of the Intex. That said, the Intex Utra is a much better pool than the regular blue with white frame. I have had both and the Ultra wins hands down. If you go to walmarts web site you can get the 18' for $499.00 and have it shipped to your store for free.

Good luck with your build- I hope you have an easier time with the shovel than I did. I took a few hours each afternoon, and it took me 4 days to cut through the crabgrass, etc. On the plus side, I had enough grass/dirt cut out to fill in some of the low spots by my gate where I'd get stuck moving the popup camper in & out.

this evening, we got the ground leveled off (more or less).
And got the dirt & weeds taken to a spot in the yard where it is very low.
Added a few 2 x 6 X 8 (3 qty) to the deck so when we extend deck
we will be able to have a starting spot. Marked off the pool area with
a metal rod and scratched the ground. Used red spray paint to mark the area so we know
where to start digging.
Since it started to rain a few minutes ago, I think we will take tomorrow off
to keep the godson (who is 3 yrs old) and get a few things done.
and resume productivity on Thurs morning,
so far so good. But yet, time consuming

But will be well worth it once it gets up
and running. and be able to enjoy the pool
