What size vacuum hose

Should I buy a 1 1/2" or 1 1/4'' hose for vacuum. Does it matter? I put up a 15' above ground pool at the end of last season that I bought used from a local pool store. I did not get a vacuum with it so I need to purchase one soon. I've borrowed my dad's a couple of times but I really need to get my own.

I could be wrong, but I think the size of the hole in your skimmer dictates the size you need. If I could I would get the bigger one, since it will have less resistance to flow and would be less likely to get clogged.
