Testing the Source

My new AG pool finally got electric going, so now the pump is running merrily! I took some initial tests to check source water with my new test kit (didn't bother with the FC/CC or CYA testing, since none of those have been added yet), and came up with:

TC: less than .5
pH: 7.2
TA: 30
CH: 60

It's an 18' round, about 7600 gallons. We're putting in a SWG, but want to get the water chemistry up to snuff before turning it on so it doesn't have to play catch-up. I'm going to have the pool store test my sample for salinity and metals before adding anything else.

Wooo!! So glad I ordered that test kit before getting the pool running... it's really easy to use. Thanks again, Dave!!!

Hi, Wendy,

Thank you!! Like you, I was able to test my pool water (from my pond) before it went in to the pool. It was incredibly helpful to know in advance what needed to be done.

Thanks again for your nice post.

Dave
