How can I repair a 3" long crack in the side of the skimmer box (AGP) now that there is water in it?

It is a minor leak only dripping twice a minute. Is there any kind of PVC patch that I can glue on the outside?
I just had a thought ... anyone ever try Eternabond tape? It is typically used on roofs but it is some crazy sticky stuff ... could actually work in this case for a minor leak.
{EDIT: In fact, I would be willing to mail you a piece if you posted some before and after pictures. Be forewarned, if it does not seal completely, it will be a pain in the you know what to remove it.
Might work even better to just lower the water level below the skimmer for any repair to choose though}

You can try a 2 part pool epoxy it's called pool putty and looks like playdough.. I have put many temp repairs on skimmer using pool putty...

Replacing the skimmer itself should also be pretty cheap if you want to do it yourself.
