I just bought a house with a hayward aqua rite salt chlorinator and the cell wire had been chewed by an animal. Will this keep the cell from powering on? I want to replace the cell but need to be sure the board is going to work first. As of now no power to board cant see a fuse but am getting power to terminals.

The main unit should show some signs of life even if the cell is disconnected. How much effect chewing has on the cable depends on how far through the insulation they got. It could easily have disconnected the cell and equally easily everything could still work.
