Will an automatic chlorinator for an in-ground pool work on an above-ground? What's the difference between them? Thanks in advance for any education you can provide.

Yes, it can work, though it is a bit more trouble. The only significant difference is that they are designed to connect to the plumbing in different ways. An above ground chlorinator will have places to clamp on hoses, while an in-ground chlorinator will have places to glue in PVC pipes. With the correct adapters, either one can be used with either kind of pool.

Thanks so much for your response. My neighbor offered one to me and I didn't know if it would work. Guess I'll be "plumbing" today.
