Have a TF test kit I purchased last year and just did my first test - got very bad reading on the CH.

How long are the regents good for?

They were stored in a heated garage?

In particular the CH regents -as I got no reading.

On the ColorQ I got reasonable results - and similar on Alk, but CH was like non existent. When I closed all was balanced.

Just melted in the past few weeks and plan on opening this week - due to extreme warm winter and spring.

Color Q
PH 8.3
Alk 70 TF 60
CH 215 TF Never turned blue
CYA 35 TF did not test

Will take care of the PH and Chlorine when I get the water circulating.

Reagents can last a few years if they are kept indoors and in a dark place. If they were subject to temp extremes, it can shorten the shelf life.

So what happened during the CH test? What makes you believe that you got no reading? Was there no color change?
