Pentair Challenger housing O-ring/Square ring question

Hi Everyone,

I'm rebuilding a Pentair Challenger and I ordered a new housing O-Ring but what I received was a square ring (it says "new style"). Are these interchangeable or did the housing design change at some point?

Is your old O-ring rounded? It looks like the user manual for the Pentair Challenger does, in fact, say its a square ring. I would imagine the new ring you got will work just fine.

The old O-ring is round and the new one did not look like it would fill the channel properly but (surprisingly) it works just fine. No leaks.
