Purifiber instead of DE

Any of you poolies use Purifiber instead of DE? I was told to use it because it is more environmentally friendly. Do you know where I can buy it on-line? None of the pool companies in my area carry it.

Leslie's sells Fiber Clear, which is the same thing. Many online vendors cary one brand or another. I don't hear of very many people using it, probably because it is so much more expensive than DE.

I tried this type of product in my previous pool. I found that all it did was clump in the bottom of the
filter and really didn't coat the grids. I couldn't see any improvement in the filtering.

I went back to regular DE, a whole lot cheaper.
