SWG Readings

We recently turned our generator off for a bit and when we turned it back on, the pool is extremely cloudy and there is no chlorine in the pool. The SWG has been back on for two days however it's still not showing that there is any chlorine in the water. The reading on the box is showing at 2000ppm salt but the water is extremely salty (I have dumped about 180lbs of salt in the water over the last three days because of the reading on the box.

What's going on here??

We need a lot more info in order to give an intelligent answer.

Why did you turn it off?
How long was it off?
Was the pool being used while it was off?
What are the test results and how did you get them?
Have you performed an independant test for salt level?
What is the pool and equipment info?
Is it an indoor or outdoor pool?

sorry. We turned it off because the chlorine was reading high. We left it off for about 12 hours and yes, people were using the pool during this time. It's an indoor hotel pool, but not busy at this time.

We have not done an independent salt test. I don't have the means to do so.

It sounds like either you have something consuming the FC or your cell isn't producing. How old is the cell? How many amp-hours has it ran?

Just take a sample ot the local pool store and have them test the salt.
Also post a set of test results. You should be required to have those.
