Just curious. Anyone ever bust apart a swcg cell and recycle the plates out of it? Are they pure titanium or some type of alloy that isn't worth as much. I know autopilot used to buy back a dead cell and I assume it was for the plates inside. Anyone ever do it?

The plates are titanium coated with a platinum group metal, such as ruthenium or iridium. I think that titanium scrap goes for between 4 and 6 dollars per pound. I would estimate that there might be about 8 to 12 ounces of metal in a cell. So, probably 2 to 4.5 dollars of metal per cell.
