Had pool deck poured 1200 sq ft broom finish. About 80% happy there are some spots that are to rough like the broom was dirty with concrete or something. Anyway its 5 days old and when i sweep or drag foot still getting lot of liitle concrete pebbles fly off and get dust with bromm. Concrete guy says this is normal it will wear down with use, and water. Does this sound normal? sounds like i will be spending first season dealing with concrete pebbles in pool. is this just something that happens with a broom finish due to the ridges?

Thats pretty typical. It will take some time for that to subside. With a broom finish, you will always have to deal with a little of that, although it wont be bear as bad as in the beginning.
yes do you have any pictures of the pool deck? We are looking to redo ours.....what kinda money did you spend if you don't mind me asking?
thanks for the reassurance yes i can post pics of progress of renovation . liner goes in today. Well i went with my own concrete guy instead of pool builder he was 5 k cheaper! but it was a bit of a pain getting the two on same page would have been easier to have pool guy do it all. I had 1500 sq ft torn out and 1200 put back in. It was 9k with a light color added and 1k for cantilever. I'm in northeast so things might be more money. Of course pool guy has been negative about everything concrete guy does but thats because i didnt use him to do deck

I had a question about the single pour cantilever deck. It seems like the concrete will want to crack at the edge of the bond beam (where coping is typically installed). Just curious how they compensated for that? Did they pour it thicker? Add more reinforcement? Also, it is a bit difficult to see the cantilever in the pics. Did they use those foam forms to do the cantilever (stegmeir rings a bell, as one brand)? How much does it cantilever? Your deck looks great and I am looking at possibly doing a similar style when I redo my concrete this year.

There is no bond beam on a liner pool like on a shot concrete pool. The canter lever is only a from the bead track in, towards the water. There is no additional reinforcement needed, just a different liner track.
